Cambridge Culinary Competition 2011 winners! Clare College chefs gain top awards.

The Cambridge Culinary Competition 2011 was held in Cambridge Regional College on 27 October 2011 and was judged by catering professionals drawn from the international competition arena.

With various categories including cold starters, main course and afternoon tea cakes and a live main event with chefs cooking against the clock, this year's competition was keenly contested. The ceremony took place at Selwyn College on 10 November and we are very proud that our chefs have achieved remarkable results, with all the candidates who entered receiving medals. Overall, Clare won 14 medals and 6 of the 8 classes which were entered. The winning classes were in canapes, cold starters, main course, vegetarian main course, afternoon tea cakes and petit fours.

We are delighted that our chefs also won the coveted Steward's Cup; best team effort taken from all classes. Our catering manager, Lee Corke said "Still within my first year at Clare, I am extremely proud of the team that were victorious in winning the Steward's Cup for overall best College. The victory has generated a real buzz within the kitchen and the team can't wait to compete again."

Congratulations to all the team.
